This legislation aims to reduce our dependence on oil by 7 million barrels a day in 20 years. It includes:

* The development and mass marketing of hybrid technologies;
* More pumps for alternative fuels at gas stations;
* Fuel-efficiency standards for trucks;
* Tax credits for manufacturers to retool facilities for advanced technology and alternative fuel cars and trucks;
* R&D funding for cellulosic ethanol that can be made from cornstalks, paper pulp, switchgrass, and agricultural waste.
